Swedbank Financial Literacy Center

Where does the family budget go, and how expensive is electricity? Invest 30 years in 6 minutes. How does an index fund work and what happened to crypto? Work hard for your down payment and feel the importance of comparing credit cost rates.

We developed games and digital solutions for Swedbank’s Financial Literacy Center to encourage students to collaborate and play through real-life economic decisions.

Swedbank’s Financial Literacy Center is Estonia’s first interactive, game-based learning environment where teachers can book a dedicated financial literacy lesson for their class. The program covers five core themes: everyday money and budgeting, investing and scams, responsible borrowing, getting started with entrepreneurship and responsible consumption.

Each visit is divided into in two parts. Students complete hands-on challenges in the activity hall and then they move into a guided analysis session, where a coordinator helps the group unpack decisions and outcomes.

Our games are built around real data and real constraints to make abstract topics tangible. Students test strategies and immediately see the consequences of their choices. The work was co-created with experts and educators. Games were developed hand in hand with testing sessions with students to refine language, difficulty, pacing and collaboration dynamics.

The result is an energetic and practical format that helps students rehearse for the financial decisions they will soon face in real life.
